How recommendations are made

Equipment guidance is written around function and fit: what a component does, how it should be sized and what to compare when choosing between options.

Categories are documented before any product is linked, so the education stands on its own whether or not a link exists.

What we will not do

We do not accept payment for a favourable review, do not publish sponsored content disguised as editorial, and do not rank products by commission rate.

If a widely sold product is a poor choice, we will say so.
